  • Advanced Pilot/ Instructor Certification Regulations (FAA) - This link downloads Part 2 of Civil Aviation Regulations, Personnel Licensing Regulations, in Word (680K). See Section 2.2.4 regarding Commercial licenses, Sec. 2.2.5 re Air Transport Ratings, Sec. 2.2.6 re Flight Instructors, and Sec. 2.2.7 re Ground Instructors. Hyperlinks from these sections take you to the Implementing Standards with specific information on training, experience, and testing requirements.
  • Air Transport World Training Directory - Commercial schools training airline crews and mechanics.  From ATW home page, click "Directories", then "Training", then one of three world regions. Extensive, but not comprehensive; facilities must register themselves (apparently for free) to be listed.
  • Air Transport Pilot Test Bank - Feb., 2000 bank of multiple-choice questions for the FAA air transport pilot written exam.
  • Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Directory - From Gleim Publications. Information on CFIs accessed by state and city. CFIs can register themselves on this site. Unclear whether information was taken from FAA rolls or whether just those CFIs who "signed up" are listed.
  • The Regulatory Support Division - The Regulatory Support Division, AFS-600, is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Washington D.C. Headquarters Office located at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Division is composed of five Branches:
    • AFS-610, Airworthiness Programs
    • AFS-620, Aviation Data Systems
    • AFS-630, Airman Testing Standards
    • AFS-640, Designee Standardization
    • AFS-650, Automation Infrastructure Management
    • AFS-600 promotes safety by providing the aviation community with the highest level of services and systems.
  • Gaits Aviation Seminars - Refresher clinics for flight instructors, conducted Friday evenings and all-day Saturday at various locations in north-central US.  Site has clinic schedule, price, testimonials, and on-line registration, but not specifics on content or FAA certification/ approval.
  • Pilot Training - Articles on steps for obtaining advanced ratings (instructor, air transport, etc.). From Gleim Publications, site includes imbedded information about and ads for their training publications and related products, but the ads are more useful than obtrusive.
